Or ‘Week Wrap’ as Arizaphale calls it, and has inspired me to post. There are a couple of topics in my head I want to write about this week but it’s getting a long enough space of time to put the jumbled thoughts into a semi-coherent bundle of text.
So instead I’ll regale you with what’s being going on in planet SSG this past week.
I finished working my fortnightly stint at the hospital, and sent them an email saying it is too difficult for me to fit them in at the moment and whether I could have time off til at least after christmas. They wrote back today saying it was up to me but 2 other girls are leaving and they really need me and they really appreciate what I do, etc, etc. Which is all nice, but not good for my time management and ‘just say no’ plan, but at least it will give me more money for Christmas. Did I just say that? It seems like Christmas is beginning in September, the local charity shops have begun selling cards, catalogues are coming through the door and the mild panic of who I need to buy for and how much money I’ll have has risen to a vague tremor in the back of my mind. Damn cards!
I do love this time of year though- cycling to work this morning it was cold and crisp, the sky was strewn with pinky-red clouds and there were rabbits hopping in the morning dusk. Lovely! Just need some gloves to keep the fingers warm!
On the weekend we went to a local farm that has turned itself into a high-earning establishment- farm shop, restaurant, garden centre, petting encolsures. It was a lovely sunny day and in the morning we had visited some old homes that were open to the public, and in the afternoon we and some friends piled into the car and went to look at pigs, buy chicken and taste some ice cream. We got an indian takeaway at night and all in all it was a lovely day.
Last night a really good friend of mine that I feel I’ve known for ages came for dinner. He’s off to Australia like another good friend of mine, for love not money, but a better way of living too. I hope he finds it just as he hopes but I’ll miss him; the world’s not as big as it used to be (But you wouldn’t like to paint it- that’s for you Mr C!) but still, it’s too far to go for fish and chips and call of duty battles.

I like your new site!! Is it Mark who is moving to Oz?
Is that Mark Waters that’s going to Australia? Is he done yet? It is really, really far away. Starting to feel that isolation.
Why do you have a picture of a cow or whatever that thing is?
That it be… he’s leaving in 2/3 weeks- a week Monday is his last day at work… don’t know why he didnt leave on a friday but apparantly he wants to have lunch with the psycho. ya.
