No Country for Old Men

Mr C and I watched No Country for Old Men last night. Right from the very beginning it was pretty tense and I had to tell myself to relax, and force my shoulders down. Everyone talks so slowly, and walks and moves so slowly, but the action is so fast, in a sense, it was [...]

Hallowe’en

From The Onion

I love Hallowe’en…
As a child my mum had the Jane Asher’s Fancy Dress book and my sister and I would argue over who got to look through it. I don’t think we made anything from it but the costumes were brilliant and great ideas. I remember going out as Old King Cole once, [...]

I just wrote a post…

…but it was shit.
It was about how crap I am at explaining myself. And it just went to prove myself right- I couldn’t explain myself about explaining myself in the post and I sounded like a total numpty. So that one’s gonny be marked “draft” forever…

On Wednesday at around 11am some digger cut through and electricity cable and my work, and the whole estate where I work had not power supply. We decided to [...]

Writing

I have writing envy. There are quite a few people out there with GREAT blogs, great writing, and make me laugh, think or remind me of myself. (Je me souviens, even).
At school my sister was always the writer, into the arts; she took sixth year studies English, higher French and was always into doing the [...]

Autumn

I love autumn. I love the chill in the air, the leaves blowing in the wind, the changing colours, the smell of woodsmoke. Yesterday MrC and I went for a walk in the town where we live and it met all the above criteria. I don’t know what your favourite seasons are but this is [...]
