Blog Love

Here are some of my favourite blogs.

A Free Man
I used to work with a free man. It made days in the lab a little more bareable (almost). He taught me many things, including how to offend Mexicans and look like you’re working when you’re not. Now he’s moved down under with his missus and little’un, but he really does write well on a variety of topics- politics, science, music and chasing geese. And his son is very, very cute.

Now where did I put that flaming sword?
Our heroine Arizaphale manages to get a lot done in life and here she charts it as she goes. Her posts are really human; she works damn hard even when often things aren’t going her way and still manages to have a sense of humour about it. I don’t know why, or what memory it stems from, but this blog reminds me of Ramona, the girl in the 80’s TV show.

Not Afraid to Use it
Otherwise known as NATUI this mum is one feisty lady. When she is not having her feet eaten by fish or pissing on her neighbour’s lawn, she is not only not afraid to use it, she knows how to use it, too.

Ex-boyfriend blog
No, this guy is not my ex-boyfriend, although he must be somebody’s, but he makes me laugh. And he has kinda cool t-shirts.

Formerly Fun
A brazilian waxer, wife and mother, FormerlyFun has one of those blogs that you feel cameraderie with, laugh at her stories and nod your head at her posts. She write all sorts from political commentary, family situations, work stories and everything in between.

Twenty Four at Heart
Twenty Four at Heart manages to find time to write a good solid chunk of blog everyday I think, and you can join in laughing with (and at, sorry!) her in her mishaps, conincidences and life of Moneypeople (TM).

Jan’s Sushi Bar
Jan has a cool site that she redesigns often I think. At time of press it has a Hallowe’en theme, which is how I came across her blog after bitching about the introduction of American culture in Britain. She has a number plate “Weirdos” and posts really good recipes.

Colin’s Stories
Colin is a pretty funny guy. I laugh when I read his blog; his humour is my kinda humour.

Walking through the Rain
Just started reading Nora’s blog. Gradschool, boyfriends and a dog called Jack.

Breaking the ice
Philosophy and life.

Chromosphere
Beer, beer, and more beer.

My Life Interrupted
Lori on her life. She thinks a lot about others and has been through a lot herself. Inspirational.

Endless Randomness
Life in Maharashtra, Pune and Mumbai. “20-something marketing professional trying to survive this crazy city called Mumbai”.

Deutschland Uber Elvis
Headbang in Munich. American with Japanese partner. Good social and political commentary and photos. And makes me laugh. But they’re on to him.

The Cusp
A lot goes on at the cusp. Mongolian Girl makes me laugh and she also lets the crazy out.

Father Muskrat
Father Muskrat has a new image on his blog. His writing also has me laughing at work and shaking my head at the same time. And I reckon he might be hot.

Passionate Chaos
Angel seems to have a lot of stories to tell, and I got into her blog through reading about her marriage to a crazy control freak.

No place like it
The home of MrsC. No, not related or romantically involved with my MrC, but a Canadian in France bringing up two kids.

Her Bad Mother’s Basement
A blog where anonymously you can post the sort of things you don’t want to or can’t post on your own blog. Makes for interesting (sometimes depressing) reading. Similar can be found at Bartender face.

Butterfly Rush
This girl has to deal with crazy flatmates, work issues and relationships, all in the lil city called London.

Reconstructing fossils
Carrie’s photo diary. Some amazing photos.
